After another prototyping phase, Jakub and I are now beginning to transition into optimization. The third version of Devoid will likely be released early next month. Here are the new features you can expect:
-Hooligan
-Tandem
-Squad Leader
-Warship
Players now have access to a 6-slot inventory for storing items and weapons along their journey.
A dedicated active item slot has been added. Our first active item created is flares, which can be used to clear areas and deter oncoming attacks.
Explosion particles now have colliders, resulting in improved visual impact and interaction.
A tutorial has been introduced, accompanied by a dynamic tutor system that tracks player behavior and offers contextual hints when it detects you might be struggling.
A new zoom toggle allows players to adjust their view for better situational awareness.
Docking cutscenes have been added to enhance immersion.
Those were the major additions. A few smaller things have been added as well.
Lastly, Jakub and I were planning on going to the 1UPstate gaming convention to show off V3 in October. Unfortunately the event is up in the air, that said there are plans to switch venues and still make it happen. We are hoping that's the case and if 1UPstate commences we will share how it goes and of course hope to see you there!
